CHOREOGRAPHIC CONVERSATIONS

"Hands" is an exploration of how the simple action and form of the hand makes manifest an entire complex of social-psychological effects. "Hands" explores issues of temporality and the stability of the self ("At my own hands"); violence, (de)construction and confinement in contemporary social space ("In the hands of an other"), and the production and reproduction of gender through labor, form and practice ("By hand"). Fundamentally, the project is a way to explore how physical beings transform social space as well as being a means of feeling out and critiquing an otherwise non-material reality with material form.

It revisits the ideology of the African dream...  and love, gender, corruption, lust... name it! ...Re-examines the thin line between justice and freedom, wealth and war, equality and status in the African socio-political space.
